Forgetmenot Ridge – November 16, 2008

Mountain height:         2335 m
Elevation gain:            740 m
Roundtrip time:           5:10

Hiking with Mark.

Perhaps the most amazing aspect of this day was that between the two us we took only 24 photos – a far cry from our average of several hundred per trip (thanks to digitals cameras!) Secondly, I opted to miss a titanic game in the NFL (the 2-7 Rams vs. the 2-7 49er’s, for the honour of occupying the basement suite in the pathetic NFC West), in favour of going to the mountains on what was sure to be a dismal weather day.

We started quite late, due to indecision of whether to go out at all. The weather was dismal throughout, accounting for the low number of photos, but that was expected. Therefore, the colourful expletives that usually emanate from our mouths on bad weather days were uncharacteristically absent.

Given there were no views to speak of, we decided to stop at the summit of Forgetmenot Ridge and forgo an ascent of Forgetmenot Mountain to the south.

Five hours of decent exercise.

Epilogue: The Rams lost (with conviction) to the 49 er’s, but since the Seahawks also lost, the Rams and Seahawks are for now roommates in the basement suite.
