Ha Ling Peak - Northeast Face

July 11, 2015

Mountain height:  2407 m
Elevation gain:     700 m

Climbing with Evan Roberts.

I’ve always wanted to try this route and was delighted when my good friend and great climber Evan Roberts suggested we do so. The 5.6 climbing route was fantastic! At one time a classic trad. route, the climb now feels more like a sport climb, as bolts and belay stations litter the route.

Initially we switched leads, however, an incoming storm prompted us to pick up the pace and so Evan (a much better climber than I) led the last few pitches. Thankfully, the storm missed and we were granted a dry descent, down the other side of the mountain.

Awesome route and day out!

The upper pitches are fantastic

We did place some gear on the route

At the top of the route. Miner's Peak and Mount Lawrence Grassi are prominent
