Scrambling with Mark.
Mark first attempted this awesome scramble several
years earlier, but he and his group ended up on the wrong side of the ascent
route. Canada Day would be a chance for redemption.
We were very careful near the beginning with
route-finding, making sure we followed Kane’s route exactly. The slab scrambling
here was super fun. Thankfully, the upper section of the route was snow-free
and we encountered no difficulties. We did rope up for a short downclimb, but
in retrospect it was unnecessary. As advertised, the summit view was very
rewarding.
An excellent scramble and day out – great also that Mark
completed this unfinished business.
