Solo scramble.
This is one route I seriously doubt I will be rushing out
to repeat during this lifetime. It’s long, often tedious, and the best view
occurs near the beginning of the trip, at the summit of Helena
One good move, on my part, was to stash a bike near the Protection Mountain Campground. After more than 2 kilometres of total elevation gain and 25 odd kilometres of hiking, that 12 km walk back to the car at the Rockbound Lake, would have been sheer misery – as a matter as fact, I probably would have resorted to trying to hitch a ride back.
