Mount Fable
April 19, 2003
Mountain height: 2702 m
Elevation gain: 1325 m
Scrambling with Mark.
Except for what felt like a tortuously long and tedious
approach up Exshaw Creek, Mount Fable was a fantastic trip – great rock
scenery, beautiful weather, and some snow to enhance the views throughout. Unfortunately,
that snow prevented us from making it all the way to the summit. We stopped
a few vertical metres and about 50 horizontal ones from the apex. After taking
a long break and enjoy the fantastic view, we followed the ascent route back
down. Hiking back along the creek felt equally torturous on return!
A great day out.

After the long hike up Exshaw Creek, now on the lower slopes of Fable

Very cool rock

Same as above

Mark at our highpoint. The summit can be seen at the left.

The view to the south includes the four peaks of Mount Lougheed, The Windtower, and The Rimwall
