Hiking with Colleen.

Fairview Mountain is touted as one of the best hikes/scrambles in the Lake Louise area and it was time to find out for ourselves.

In short, the trip lived up to all the hype and much, much more! An excellent trail led all the way to Saddleback Pass, where a magnificent view of Haddo Peak awaited. Getting to the summit of Fairview required a great deal more effort and was obviously significantly steeper. The view from its summit was far from “Fair” – it was unreal! We took a long break to soak it all in before descending the same route.

And that wasn’t even the end of the day. We finished up with a relaxed and very rewarding paddle across Lake Louise.

Highly unlikely this will be an isolated visit to this fantastic mountain and area.
