Mount Rundle

December 7, 2002

Mountain height: 2949 m
Elevation gain:    1500 m

Scrambling with Mark.

Although Mount Rundle is probably the most iconic mountain in the Banff area, it’s scramble route to the summit is anything but – unless “iconically long, tedious, and laborious” counts!

Perhaps it was the overcast skies, but Mark and I found minimal enjoyment in the long ascent route. The clouds also ruined what should have been an outstanding summit view. And the descent seemed to go on forever. We were more relieved than gratified to end this trip.

Another run at the mountain with perfectly clear skies is warranted, but that won't come for a while!
