Scrambling with Kevin.

Two previous winter failures on Mount Shark ensured my next attempt would take place in a snow-free month. With Kevin leading the ascent, at something of a break-neck speed, we quickly arrived at the ridge and started scrambling up the pleasant terrain. Soon, we arrived at a steeper section, with a significant downsloping slab on the right. I recognized this section as the one we ascended and then had to rappel down on a previous attempt. This time we searched for an easier route and found one to the left of the ridge. The remainder of the ascent consisted of enjoyable scrambling, with some minor exposure and many false summits. A spectacular summit view waited, unfortunately marred by hazy and cloudy conditions. A very enjoyable scramble with the best part at the top – the view.
