Solo snowshoe.
Another Bob Spirko inspired trip. Thankfully, after crossing Smith-Dorrien Creek, I found a well established snowshoe trail going all the way to the summit. Without one, solo trail-breaking up the north slopes would have been a physical nightmare. Given that you really don’t get a decent view until you actually arrive at the summit, an expedient ascent was definitely preferred. The summit view was pretty good, under relatively overcast skies – it would have been fantastic with clear conditions.
