More Cowbell
June 26, 2022
Round-trip
time: 7:25
Climbing with Dan.
A perfect climb
for the two of us. Unlike Eisenhower Tower and Achilles Spire, where I turned
all the leading duties over to Dan, the grades on each of the 10 pitches of
More Cowbell (pioneered and bolted by Jordy Shepard, Nicolas Desjardins-Knowlden, Guillaume Bussieres, and Stephan Hanus) serendipitously allowed us to trade leads throughout. Dan led the
harder pitches, including the airy 5.7 crux pitch, while I took the easier
ones.
A super fun day
of easy climbing (or I should say, easy for one member of the duo!)
Dan is ready to take me places I couldn't get to without him!
Pretty decent view across the valley to Mount Kidd (left), Mount Bogart (centre) and Olympic Summit (right)
There is an excellent trail all the way to the imposing Delta Wall, where More Cowbell and several other climbing routes exist
Mount Lorette - that was one ding-dong-dandy of a day!

Scrambling an additional pitch above The Cowbell grants access to a pleasant grassy plateau
Dan peeks down the other side
Looking over to Wasootch Peak. Too bad getting over to it is quite
challenging, as the hiking/scrambling route down is very easy and would elimate the need to rappel the route.
Several people at the summit of Wasootch Peak
Dan looks for a potential way down to the Cowbell/Wasootch col. Nothing easy was to be found.

Back to the start. Great day and thanks Dan!
